50PLO - 2nd nut FD 3way

BN: BabaCloanta: $30.19
SB: Am4ranth: $78.84
BB: Merseylad: $58.24
UTG: MAKS79707: $29.32
HJ: SkyScraper93: $48.75
CO: Ph33roX: $57.71
UTG is a fish playing 53/15, and has cbet in 3 out of 4 opportunities.

SB is a reg playing 21/14.
Preflop ($0.75) (6 Players)
Ph33roX was dealt Q 7 9 Q
MAKS79707 raises to $1.75, SkyScraper93 folds, Ph33roX calls $1.75, BabaCloanta folds, Am4ranth calls $1.50, Merseylad folds
Not a hand I want to 3bet, especially vs this opener...yet too strong to muck. BTN was a nit playing 16/10 so I figured I'll have position a lot of the time.
Flop ($5.75) 2 8 5 (3 Players)
Am4ranth checks, MAKS79707 bets $5.49
So, if we were HU I would always just flat this, but with another player behind I am not so sure. SB shouldn't hit this flop much at all given he is a solid reg going to a 3way pot from the SB, I would mostly expect higher rundowns and dry KK type hands from him...So I ended up calling the cbet.

What do you think?

hey PH33rox,

how is it going at ZOOM50? I have played a couple of hands already against you! :-)

I think pre this is almost never a 3bet as you said. You said sb was a reg but playing 21/14 is a pretty tight reg and i expect him to be even tighter from the sb.

This flop really doesnt hit the sb blinds range very well imo and from the stats you have given us it doesnt seem he is very active. Your hand is def. good enough to call the cbet and gii on many turns. So i would go ahead and call the cbet, expecting sb to play very honest and fold if he does c/r (which almost never hapepens).

I think raising is much better than just calling. UTG is a fish and only 60bb deep. He will have tough decision on the flop, but might play well on turns. We don't have to worry too much about the SB, he will rarely continue.

I would flat this flop bet with deeper stacks as a default, but we're shallow against a loose/bad player. Loose/bad players bet too much. If we raise, he has to fold a lot or get it in bad a lot.

Adding fold equity to our decent pot equity seems tempting here. The plan hinges on SB being mostly out of the picture, which is likely. If SB folds KK/naked 2nd NFD/various high cards behind us, we have gained a lot. A problem is, it's costly when SB doesn't follow the script.

I'm not certain of the best line without doing some number crunching, but I definitely see merit to raising here.
