3b Pot Flop Decision

50PL

CO-27/18, opening 28% of CO's(and only 27% of btns ironically), 4betting 4.2% of hands so probably AAxx, AKKx and some double suited rundown type stuff. We have been battling a bit this session and he's been winning most of the bigger pots, all of which have been fairly standardly played by both of us.

BTN (42.00) 34/17 Bad reg, tries winning every pot and outplaying everyone. Has some very out of whack frequencies.

BB- 61/33 drooler (68.50)

5 handed MP folds, CO opens to 1.43 BTN calls, Hero(covers) 3bets SB AcQdJh9c to 6.22, BB cold calls, CO calls, BTN calls.

Flop Tc 9s 3h (24.88)

Hero pot/calls.

So, pre might be a little questionable, but I think it's OK. My 3bet freq is a bit lower than I'd like so I'm looking for spots to increase it. This seemed like a good one.

Flop with an SPR of 1.7-3.3 between all players this seems like a clear pot/call to me.

Thoughts?

The thing I thought most when reading this post had very little to do with the hand, but more to do with your comment regarding attempting to increase your 3-bet percentage. This is certainly a worthwhile goal, but I don't think that, in general, looking for hands you can do this from the blinds is the best option. I'd much prefer seeing you 3-bet some more questionable stuff from CO/BTN than attempt to force it OOP. Obviously there are a number of profitable approaches to PLO, but personally, when trying to widen my overall stats, I like to start by being in position.

Also worth noting that trying to force stats is generally a bad idea. I'm all for looking at my play and noticing tendencies which could do with changing, but just deciding that your 3-bet stat is lower than you'd like so you have to 3-bet more isn't necessarily a great idea. Personally I'm always surprised that mine isn't higher, but then I remember the frequency with which I play against morons who play like 60/8. Versus guys like this I think it's often an error to be 3-betting as wide as I would like to as they are so strong when opening that I'll get 4-bet more often than I deem acceptable w/ a wide range. Basically, all my 3-bets will do is put extra money in as an underdog. By all means look for areas to improve, but don't just make changes to your game on the strength of the stats alone. Have a logical reason for why you are making the change you are and take time to consider possible causes for the variation in your theoretical ideal for a stat and the reality of it.

That said, this is a strong hand and one which I'm sure you can be 3-bet profitably here against CO. Having been called, I agree that you are simply gonna bet/go with it.

I always find it difficult to respond to posts in this format. For example, you haven't stated what stakes you are playing, which is useful for understanding the player pool you face. I don't know immediately if the numbers in brackets are big blinds or $. There's a mistake in the line that begins '5 handed' that states BTN wrongly folded to the squeeze. Overall this is not a good way to encourage a lot of responses.

My bad. But you get the point, it wasn't so clear for me to see. It's best when stated in the title. Anyway, I opened up your thread looking to help, but it takes more effort than is necessary and unfortunately all your threads are in this manner. This is the first one I didn't close immediately. Please, post the real hh when possible. :)

Confused about action...first it says BN folds, then it says BN calls 3bet.
