2.5 5 zoom plo. Torn between betting and checking w weak FH draw on monoboard

BN: $623.51 (Hero)
SB: $447.22
BB: $1034.57
UTG: $1002.46
HJ: $250
CO: $1006
Preflop ($7.50) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt Q 7 8 J
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO raises to $17.50, Hero raises to $60, SB folds, BB folds, CO calls $42.50
Villain is very loose (RFI >35% from any position). I am hesitating to mark people like that as fish after small samples though (109 hands).
Flop ($127.50) 7 Q 8 (2 Players)
CO checks, Hero bets $68.58, CO calls $68.58
I guess flop could also be debatable. I thought that there is a lot of value in betting for protection (against KQ type,56, some 9T), but if somebody disagrees then i would like to discuss that for sure.
Turn ($264.66) 7 Q 8 2 (2 Players)
CO checks
In terms of protection, the turn seems to be interesting though. We can fold out the same hand, plus hands like Q9T. Suddenly it appeared to me that i might be inducing from hands like KcQ9T, and some weaker Ac hands as well, and people typically don't check raise a random flush here (versus let's say a $140 bet, leaving $350 into $540 behind for the river).

Any thoughts on this? What if i had Q78J with the Jc? or Q89T with the 9c or Tc? Is it worth more to block a flush, or to have 3 pair when we are thinking about bet calling here?
