1/2 plo - 3b pot, mway flop decision

Blinds: $1.00/$2.00 (6 Players) BN: $95.15
SB: $345.15
BB: $80.00
UTG: $423.95 (Hero)
MP: $491.95
CO: $80.00
Preflop ($3.00) Hero is UTG with K 9 J Q
Hero raises to $6.00, MP calls $6.00, CO raises to $27.00, 3 folds, Hero calls $21.00, MP calls $21.00
Flop ($84.00) 2 Q 4
Hero checks, MP checks, CO bets $53.00 and is all in, Hero

Plenty of history with both. OR is taggish reg (oop squeeze range is still 6% here and 8% vs hero) and MP is a softer, looser player with whom I've been quite active this sesh.

Zzz pot? If so, at what stack depth (vs MP) do we not zzz pot?

These spots are interesting because of the stack dynamics.
I wonder how play "should" go here. If I had to guess I would think that MP should be leading (small, less than 1/2 CO's remaining stack) some of his very strong hands here, as he will lose a lot of EV if it gets checked through.

As played I think I like your shove OTF, but it really accomplishes very little:
- NFD is never folding
- You are in great shape vs all Qxxx other than AQxx
- MP KKxx combos arn't a lot as he a) might have 3b, b) might have back-raised

We could lead small, denying the other deep stack his good relative position, downside is if shortie folds hands he woulda shoved if checked to.

As played i like x-jamming....we cant fold if we call and get raised prob...so id rather take any feq i can get. Even tho we wont fold out anything with eq were not crushing the board and he still has position.

As spr goes above 10 with big stack, xring starts to look a little unattractive

Like spassewr said, leading is an okay idea because we can leverage MP's whole stack, but I'd prefer it if shortie's stack were a bit larger (like SPR=1.5 or so). Here he is so shallow that I expect him to jam with a very wide range, some of which he might just fold against our donk bet. I just don't think the EV gain from putting MP into a test outperforms the EV loss when we fold out shortie.

That said, I'd x/jam to maximise our FE. We don't want to run into NFD, but it's not disastrous if we did (I think we would be slightly behind if he gets it in with all NFD?). I guess we can induce MP to shove lightly by just calling here, but problem with that is a) he can just flat with lots of hands, for example NFD, and get to play turn/river in position, and b) it's not like we would be crushing his "light gii" range anyway.

As played, I'm fine with this line given stack dynamics. I thought I'd share because it made me wonder if this line changes at a certain stack depth b/w hero and MP.

Maybe 300-350BBs? Does changing strategy from x/r to x/c to induce/protect vs MP seem reasonable w/ $600 behind (and still an $84 flop pot)?

Am finding the 300BB mark to be where I'm questioning easy <200BB lines such as this one.

Result: vill tank jammed nfd & pair, saying he 'didn't really want to play for stacks with you with so little invested'. (I guess vs. some there could be fold equity by still ripping this flop spot with even more behind.)

By jamming MP will fold everything except a set and the NFD imo. If you call you get him to come along with a bunch of other weaker stuff. If you call and MP calls you will have about $340 left into a pot of about $245 so playing the turn OOP isn't horrible. He is also somewhat likely to jam the NFD on the flop himself if you call so you don't have to worry about running into it on the turn as much either. All of your 2 pair cards are clean as well.

Turns such as 3,5,6,A aren't good but it's only 12 / 45 cards. If the turn is one of those cards and you check then MP pots you can probably fold as well because he is less likely to bluff with a dry sidepot / one player all in already.

Overall it probably doesn't make too much of a difference but you give MP a chance to come along with a few weaker hands, say 4567cc, Qxxx no clubs, Jack high FD etc, by calling instead of raising.
