1/2 HU - Tough turn spot in SRP - 170BB deep

BB: $429.50
SB: $343.70 (Hero)
Preflop ($3.00) (2 Players)
Hero was dealt 5 5 8 9
Hero raises to $6, BB calls $4
Flop ($13.00) K Q 5 (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $10, BB calls $10
Turn ($33.00) K Q 5 6 (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $27, BB raises to $112.50

I am new to PLO, so all comments are much appreciated!

100 hands into match.

Villian is unknown. He only opens 50% and plays 75% out of BB with a 24% 3 bet. This is the second time he x-r turn. I folded the first time.

When he x/r turn I fear he has a set of 66 or QQ. However, the board is so draw heavy I figured he might decide to go with some combodraw or 2 pair + FD etc.

My question is - do we get it in here or do we call and evaluate river?

Hey,

when he X/C's the flop i think it's pretty unlikely he has a flopped set, with so many bad turns that he's just not playing it that passively that often. 6's however seem more than possible, and i think it's very possible for this to be him trying to get protection from the river.

In saying that, you're right there's a bunch of stuff he could do this with, His rundowns or Fd's then his 2pair+ combo draws, and the fact that he could be just barreling you off your hand.

You have some of the clubs outs which is good as it's the most likely flush for him to be chasing. When he bets so much i just think he wants you to fold, even though stacks are pretty deep, you have outs to everything at this point, folding seems wrong with such a good hand, Calling i thinks is worse (for me anyway) as there's a bunch of rivers that will kill the action and a bunch that will make us want to fold the best hand...So that only leaves us with ship it. There's enough combos that i think we are winning.

I think with the clubs and straight draw you just get this in because you dominate his nutty combo draws too much.

edit: just ran a sim on this: it's actually very close, and you probably want to just call unless you think he is XR fairly wide, you're 47% against a range of (QQ, SET+backup, T2P+decent backup, mega draws)

You're 47% against his top 8%, you're 55% against his top 16%, so it's pretty close but probably a call.

Thanks for commenting on some low-mid stakes action :D

If we are 47% against his top 8% and  55% against his top 16%, shouldnt we just get it to away making a river mistake when there is already so much money in the pot?

If we just call here what is our plan for the river? Assuming villian is going to be potting the river with the majority of his range.. is our hand more of a bluff catcher?  Are we calling if a club hits? Only calling if we fill up or hit a straight w/o a club?

I would call since you have position and should be able to play rivers better than him.  Like if he checks on a heart, ace, or nine, you can just shove and expect him to fold top or middle set really often.
