I believe preflop and flop play are pretty "std"(maybe some bet sizing issues). OTT, I don't think villain is ever bluffing and he is not the type of player who would raise a turned FD (even with any additional equity), so my question is: Are there enough slowplayed lower sets, or even an unlikely turned set with a weirdly 44** in his range?. This line from a passive player is very very strong imo and Idk if he'd slowplay a set OTF to raise the turn. Am I a huge nit for even posting this hand, or is my concern legitimate?

I think your beat often but not often enough to fold. Even if he has 56 you still have a bunch of outs. I'd call and feel fine about it. Id also raise the flop bigger.
Against 56 you have the equity to call this off. Against anything else, you are crushing. Folding is out of the question.
Given we have the gutshot, call.
I haven't even accounted for the GS outs. I did call and villain had JhJs5c6h, bricked river obv
