Hard to go wrong raising a 13-out nut wrap on the flop. When you turn the nuts and don't plan to fold to river donks on scare cards, bet bigger. If you can fold on scare cards, bet bigger anyway. There's a flush draw, the board can pair, and Villain can draw to a straight that splits with yours.
By betting small you put more of your stack in jeopardy without gaining anything from it (especially when you plan to stack off on future scare cards anyway). Villain's 2nd best hands will probably not call 1/2 pot on the turn and the rest on blank rivers, he's calling the turn bet to draw and to see what you do on the river.
