Hi guys, I was playing a lot of TD for a couple of weeks and felt like I had made some improvement. I deposited $40 and decided I was only going to play limit 2-7 games and try to get better because there might be a future in it. Things were going pretty well and I had made it up to about $120 playing .1/.2 and then .25/.5, when I decided to take a shot at the .5/1 game. I had noticed the rake being pretty bad at the lower limits but the players were really bad when the games were HU and the games would usually run 4 or 5 handed at times, which also helped. However, there is next to no traffic at these games on Merge, so moving up meant only being able to play mostly HU. Well, it only took about 50 hands to notice how heavy the rake was! Me and Villain bought in for $20 and 50 hands in, they had already raked $4 off the table! Is this normal? Are these games even beatable at that level and at what level does it get back to being beatable? It seemed ridiculous that I was having to basically be crushing the guy long term to break even. Any help, advice or suggestions would be appreciated!
