Hey guys!
I'd like to know your thoughts in this hand.
Villain was a reg playing 25/19 65% fold to 3bet in 744 hands. So, I think villain doesn't have many hands that beat us like two paris+. Besides that, villain have AQ,AJ,AT combos that I get value from him. So it's ok this 3barrels?

I would play it the same. Too risky to try something tricky like checking river. Too likely he checks back AQ, AJ, ATs instead of betting them, and if I did check river, it would be with the intention of C/C because he certainly could bet value betting worse aces or missed spade draws. He does however, have a lot of hands in his range that beat you. He is probably calling your 3b and playing position with suited wheel aces and I’m sure he has at least 66 and 77 in his calling range also. 5’s not so sure. And 98s seems like a loooooong shot holding.
I think it is well played
Pio says check is higher EV than shove. It has to do with our flop size, which let villian have many combos of 2 pairs + that vs our shove villian doesnt have to defend AQ,AJ,AT.He prefers to hero call A8,A9,A2 instead.
However it is not huge difference, as well if we check we can check/fold more often than check/call.
Have to tweak tree in PIO a lot, because I doubt villian plays even close to it. Most case scenario over folding flop and turn which leaves us with one pair clear folds(86,97,T7,87), whether he is calling AQ,AJ often make our shoving EV go up which I wouldn't say is happening
But is blocking the flush draw Not also a big reason to bet since we can rep the busted draw
AK isnt so strong to value bet, it is in borderline. I think having Ks is relevant, it is blocking villian folding range so maybe we see him calling little bit more(which shouldn't change picture) and that's all.
Great point Jeff! I had not seen that side yet!
Your explanation makes sense, but in microstakes player don't play even close to it and villain's have a hard time to fold his strong Ax combos. So I don't know what line have the higher EV, but I think the shove still a +EV play.
Am I right?
I forgot to mention, villain had 67cc wich is a very loose defense from CO IMO.
against your size pretty easy defend imo
