Why playing in position is so important??
I'm not someone who naturally understands that being in position is much better than bein OOP. But when I listen to any good player it's the first thing they say. Is being in position important because you can see free cards, and have some control over the size of the pot??
People will often say you get more information but I really don't get it?? If I slowplay some of my big hands then the opponent can never really know if I'm weak or strong.
I feel like I'm just not understanding it, and that's evident in my game because I will call 3bets out of position without a second thought. While everyone else thinks about it

Short version: When IP player checks, another card comes. When OOP player checks, IP has the opportunity to bet or check.
The in position player gets to act last meaning they have more information than the out of position player. Any weakness the out of position player has can be exploited by the in position player. For example, if the out of position player always slowplays their strong hands with xc and xr lines, when the out of position player bets, their range is capped and the in position player can use this information to decide how they want to proceed. If the out of position player never slowplays by donking, again the in position player can exploit this. By virtue of getting to act second after the initial action, the in position player gets a natural advantage on the hand.
