When to move down in stakes?

Hi!
I have been consistently beating 5nl(4nl cuz euros) on MPN network and now i have 220 dollars and wanna try 10nl.
It is 22 buy ins.
If the taking shots goes bad when should i move down in stakes at 130 dollars?
Thanks for advice

You could take 1 or 2 buy-in shots while also playing 5nl, mixing the tables together. Losing 9 buyins seems like too far to move back down, maybe move back down if you lose 3-4, or whatever you're comfortable with.

You should move down in stakes whenever you're confidence is down or you aren't feeling as well as normal. If you have a massive skill edge then why not utilize that edge over a higher limit game, if possible? Being it is reasonably sound management, of course. See how you do at the stakes first.

I would drop down very quickly if you hit a downswing of 3 buy ins, for me personally I hate losing 1/2 my bankroll and this would represent a problem for me. Also I think it's good practice to move down and get used to doing this. It's annoying but important skill to develop that will serve you well on your way up the stake levels. Once it's rebuilt have another go. Also try to pick good times to move up to maximise your chances of success.

One mistake I made for years (and still make sometimes) is focussing on moving up quick and taking shots. The problem with this is that it often messes with your mindset if it goes wrong (imagine losing half your roll) and it will cause you to study less efficient.

So my advice: study twice as much as you play and make sure you do this efficient, take a 5BI shot at $300.

I think that's not bad approach, to be trying to make shots and move up quickly (micro stakes, low). It will encourage you to study more and to play with better opposition as well throwing yourself out from comfort zone. But don't need to forget BRM and always have plan

I recently moved up playing 1 table of 10nl zoom for 30minutes, then added a table of 5nl zoom on top for the remainder of the session. May be worth trying to add in tables of the stake above, if the bet sizing wont be too difficult.

Also check what day of the week you have the best ev bb/100 amd take your shots then

Ill probably do the same again with 16nl or 25nl - max 3buyins

Ps. Ive found the stake above easier but its. Only been 7500 hands
