This hand isn't really that interesting but is this a spot to cbet and c/f turn? C/c flop seems like a tough spot and what sorts of flops are you NOT cbetting with hands like AK or AQ? What is the play when called? I can't really improve but I could cbet turn on some 8,9, or club cards right? Sometimes a 6 as well but I rarely have 89 here.
What about same spot with same hand IP?
Thanks a lot guys :D

Vs competent opposition, I wouldn't cbet the T74cc board with AQo unless I hold the Ac. This is a board that hits the BTN's calling range quite nicely so you won't have a lot fold equity OTF. Even though you have over pairs and he doesn't, he has all of the sets and a lot of draws & pair+draw in his range, and so, I would just checkfold this combo.
"What is the play when called?"
Check-fold.
"What about same spot with same hand IP?"
It doesn't make a huge difference with this exact hand and texture. Your cbet won't get a whole lot of fold equity so I'd just start by checking and try to realize my equity share of the pot.
"What sorts of flops are you NOT cbetting with hands like AK or AQ?"
I wouldn't cbet flops that connects well with the BTN calling range. So all of the 98x 86x 75x 654 etc flops. A good starting point would be not to cbet OOP when you don't have much going on for your hand (Not even backdoors). This way you avoid difficult spots and save yourself from confusion.
Thanks you, a very thoughtful and spelled out response. That was super helpful!
