When do you call it a day.
I just played a session and was up 10 buy ins with in the hour, so normally when this happens i carry on grinding but what i find is i end up 1 or 2 buy ins up by the end of the sesh or break even. Now on losing days i do the same i chase to b/e and sometimes i end up down a load of buyins and other times i get back to b/e and quickly shut down my pc.
It seems like a no brainer to keep playing when you keep smashing sets left right and center but is that really the best option when your so many buy ins up. Is it just better to quit while your so far ahead and grind when your making a steady profit.

In general I believe you should play until you feel you are losing focus when making decisions or if the money you have in front of you is causing you to make poor decisions (playing too defensively). If you're playing regular tables then how good the table is would influence my decision.
Remove all that from equation and play for a set amount of time.
Stop loss could work wonders to if you make bad decisions after losing allot of bb's.
i relate to what you are experiencing.
for me, the cause is that when winning a lot, i start to feel invincible and im getting way out of line, bluffing in spots where i would normally not and calling 3bets and 4 bets left and right.
the other thing i watch for is when i act without thinking in a big pot, like snap calling an overbet shove on the turn with top pair weak kicker.
the solution has been to be very mindful of how i play and when i catch myself doing stupid shit, i call it a day.
when i dont and i go from +10 BI to breakeven i tilt like a money on steroids and i go busto (not too often hopefully)
i try to think of that and the horrible feeling that comes afterward to help convince myself that when i do a bad play, its time to take a break.
poker will still be there tomorrow.
I assume you have a stoploss and a time limit? This stoploss applies from the highest point. So if you have a 4 BI stoploss and you get to +10BI's, then you quit sesh if you get to +6 BI's. When you hit timelimit you take a break. Be consistent, don't switch things up just because you run bad/good.
