When a cold caller 4bets a squeeze
Hi all,
I'm a microstakes 6max player and I've come across the phenomenon more frequently than I would expect where the preflop action goes
Villain 1: Raise
Villain 2: Call
Hero: 3-bett
Villain 1: Fold
Villain 2: 4-bet
I find this extremely confusing and I'm unsure what sort of range to assign to Villain 2 in this position. Obviously Villain 2 is typically not a good player but I'd like to know what the correct exploit is in this case. My assumptions regarding the player in this case is that:
- Their range is neither sensitive to their own position or my position
- They aren't bluffing
So although I'm quite sure they don't do this as a bluff (from their perspective) as this player is usually not very good I'm not sure how strong of a hand they consider "strong". Do they do this with JJ? TT? AQo? Is it almost always just KK+?
My plan for this spot is to shove only KK+ and AK and maybe QQ. Is QQ a shove 100% of the time? Should I develop a flatting range in position with maybe AKs and QQ?
Let me know.
