What is the view on ACR's Bomb Pots?
I noticed this weekend that the Bomb Pot tables seem to be where the fish are going, and I have even seen some points where there are 5 or fewer non-Bomb tables at 2-5NL which pretty much removes table selection.
My take is this: with 4 bomb pots happening per hour we are betting an extra 20bb in blinds per hour, per table. Preflop game is removed entirely, the SPR on the flop is about 3:1 so we, and position is assigned randomly. Basically this pretty much makes any skill advantage we have not matter and reduces our play to "I have the nuts or close on this flop, let's get the chips in" which really sucks, but on the same token our opponents are in the same situation. I'm inclined to think that this is probably neutral EV but will make the variance dramatically higher and the swings over time correspondingly larger, but the higher amount of fish at the tables will increase our overall winrate. Basically we just need to make sure we have a bigger roll compared to the stakes and ride out the waves. Is there something I am missing here though? If anyone has some links to some solid info about how these actually affect our winrate that would be awesome.
