What is the general convention/default play at the equity = pot odds spot?
Hello guys,
I would like to ask what is the default play in cash games / general convention for the spots where the villain is all in (let's say on the flop) and our equity and pot odds we are getting are equal? (Let's say he is a short stacker and only him and me are in the pot)
I can see opinions around in forums recommending to call at this spot but thinking about it my thoughts are why would you do that if that is 50/50 and in a long run you are not expecting +EV here?
Thank you,
EDC

Fold if there's rake!
Mix accordingly if balance is a concern.
Fold if you hate swings.
Call if your opponent hates swings more than you do.
Quickly you'll realize that there are factors beyond the single spot that can create (future, overall) EV.
This is an entirely break even spot (unless there is rake involved, which makes it -ev), so make your play according to that. If it truly is break even (rake included) then all calling will do is increase your variance. Whether you want to do that or not is up to you.
