two live 10/25NL hands

Hand 1:

Villain is a tighter reg who plays mostly PLO. I don't have many hands with him.

$5000 effective
6 handed

UTG (hero) raises to $50 with 5s4s
4 folds
BB calls $50

Flop ($110) Ac Ks 2c
BB checks
Hero bets $50
BB calls

Turn ($210) 2s
BB checks
Hero bets ???

I think everyone will agree that this spot is a bet, but what size do you like and why?

Hand 2:

Villain is LAGgy to a fault. He opens too much, bluffs too much, and occasionally value bets hands that should not be value bet if his opponent takes a passive line. He also folds to 3bets a lot, which is reasonable given how loose he opens. He's a solid winner because he is capable of exploiting fish well and a lot of other regs in the game play very tight/straightforward.

He views me as a very good player. I have shown up with weak hands like T6s, 87o occasionally after 3betting him on BTN.

$5600 effective
7 handed

3 folds
CO raises to $75
BTN (hero) raises to $250 with KcKh
2 folds
CO calls

Flop ($535) Tc8d4c
CO checks
Hero bets $325
CO raises to $900
Hero calls

Turn 9s ($2335)
CO bets $1600 ($2850 behind)
Hero ?

He can have all sets and T8s and is likely to fast play all of them. He would never take this line with worse for value and I can't really nail down his bluffing range despite having a lot of hours with him. I suspect on the flop he can have a lot of club draws, J9s, 76s, maybe some backdoor diamonds, maybe 65s and QJs.

Hand 1: I would choose a bigger c-bet on the flop, more than half the pot at least.
I would bet the turn because we should have decent equity with our flushdraw and with the gutshots while both of the draws are well disguised, too. Bet something around 130-170. This should fold out any k.

There is still an argument for checking the turn. If he is tight as you said he will give your UTG raise more credit and therefore defend tighter. So his flop calling range should contain strong aces as well. Because you have position in the hand you can always opt to check back and bet for value if you do improve. Also be reminded that the 2 aint no scarecard at all and shouldnt give you anymore fold equity than any other card.

Hand 2: Given your read on him he can defintily play any flushdraws any straighdraw - even the worst gutshots- like this. You also stated that he bets to thinly for value in spots where he isnt supposed too. So i wouldnt count out JJ or AT entirely and prob call him down or go wtih it on the flop.

Hand 1: bet big, probably like 1.1x-1.4x pot ott; you wanna start polarizing now...bomb non ace river

Hand 2: bad turn, so many combos have you crushed...having the Kc is moderately important as it blocks him having some flush draws, (you said he's loose, not sure if he has like K9, K8, K7cc etc) but i think turn is a fold

I don't agree that hand 1 is a bet OTT. Villain is a tighter reg who called flop on an ace high board, his range is mostly AX and that range is never folding on this board.

Hand1: Turn betsize depends on how polar you want to be. If you think checking back AX is more profitable than betting then you should bet the pot or even bigger on the turn and also bet AK+. If not then somewhere around half pot -2/3 would do because you will be betting a fair amount of medium strength hands.

I think river is a good spot for a polarizing overbet in any case.

Hand2: I think this is a fold. 9 improves some of his bluffing hands on flop and he will continue with all his value hands that have you crushed. The only thing that would make me want to continue is his laggy tendencies but I'm really not sure. I've spewed a ton of stacks to those kinds of players by thinking they're always bluffing in every spot.
