The Villain in said hand was a 19/13. I had no previous history with him. This spot was very confusing for me. I would like to know what people look for in this situation when deciding between three options. I though his range here is obviously very polarized. Even though I know that it should be polarized toward the nutted range I had been playing rather loose and picked up the last 4 out of 5 pots. What should my plan be on this turn. I think what makes this hand more complacated is that we are 150 BB deep respectively.

I would shove the flop, his stats seem fishy and he could be doing this with an overpair or even just a 7 or else I would at least call it down all the way.

I think vs a guy who doesn't look to have much spew in him this is pretty much always going to be a call on the flop. I'm not feeling good about it but I'd call the turn and hope villain shuts down on the river. As an aside, I think preflop is probably pretty bad.

Do you have more stats on him or a general idea about how good he is? Because I think this is a very good spot for him to be bluffing because you don't really have any 4 in your range. I think that almost every reg folds A4 CO vs a MP open. You more rep a hand like 77,88,99,TT,JJ (and maybe 34/45 but often not) and those hands are perfect to checkraise and barrel you.

On top of that I don't think he will raise with 77 here OTF and most 4's are blocked.

The reason I posted this hand is that after I saw the hand play out I realized that I was losing the hand no matter what.  Turn Call. The river came down an Qc and the river went c/c. The villain showed up with 109cc.

I guess his reason for checking here is that his hand becomes too strong to continue bluffing with and now has show down value. But should the river blank and the villain chose to fire a third bullet, I still don't think I am calling a huge bet. Even-though I can't say that what his plan was for the river, I am sure there was little chance I was going to find a call to a large bet.

This is my worst nightmare getting hands where after I review them I believe that no matter what card comes or the strength of hand vs. villain, due to the pattern of betting and range representation by villain I never win the hand.

It's just a nasty spot I am trying not to get into often and when I do to have a game plan.

snonk: This is a fairly recent NJ network run by 888 poker that doesn't allow for huds, however with some changes in the HH after the session I am able to import hands into HEM2. At the time I basically had the player pegged as rather nitty and solid ( with no stats that could influence decision )  since he was multi-tabling and had some decent stacks across a few tables.

james and the rootbeer guy pretty much nailed it. flatting this pre isn't good but as played x/c down most rivs I here what your saying about feeling like no matter what u feel like your loosing so to avoid these spots tighten up a little bit pre flop. but u have to be calling off a lot of rivers pretty hard for him to have a 4 or catch runner runners or bink one of his 2outers. and if hes tight reg he might just be like " I gots dem aces all in" (or other big pairs) gl in NJ its "the best place to live as a poker player in the world right now!" - Mike Sexton lol ;)
