Hero bets $3, Villian raises to $8.67 and is all in. I called and he had an Ah 2h

Turn: Could my turn bet be bigger that will cause him to fold? 

River: should i have checked the river and just called a raise? Or folded to the re-raise all in after my bet? What if he shoved on the river after i check?
