Trouble vs Reg
This reg has been giving me a lot of trouble when I play 200nl. Mainly by pure aggression- raising flops and/or turns and continuing with big sizing. For the most part I haven't been able to continue, but about 5 min before this hand came up he raised my turn bet on a very drawy board, and I b-jammed the 2nd nut str8 and he folded.
I open KJhh utg because both the blinds are the fish (the reason I'm playing). villain CC's from btn everyone else folds.
flop: Ks 5d 3d
I cbt 2/3 pot-ish and he Rs about 3x- I call.
Turn 7c
I check and he bets about 2/3 pot like he's been doing. Is this a bad spot to x-jam? I feel like he has tons of draws and few sets. I dont imagine he would raise KQ for value here so that leaves him quite polarized. So KJ picks up a lot more equity on this turn card. Added to the fact that I need to pick spots to 'play back' to not let him run over me I feel this could be the perfect type of spot.

not a bad spot to x/jam, but maybe your have more EV to x/c the good river cards and x/f the bad rivers cards
Well, 2 things come to mind:
1. 1/3 of the deck is bad and I'm oop (diamonds, 4's, 6's, and maybe A's)
2. x-c doesnt really do anything to deter him from continuing to run me over
I think I should be looking for spots to exploit his aggression, without giving him the chance to further put me in tough spots. If his range is truly wide (which I think it is due to his frequency), then this turn should be a good spot for me to put HIM in a tough spot with a x-jam, and maybe make him think twice about trying to make me fold my equity in later hands.
firstly why cbeting? I think it is perfectly reasonable vs such a player to have this hand into my x/calling range and sometimes even KQ here or KK simply because I have hell of hands in my range I want to protect.
Turn x/jam is an overplay. I mean it is purely based on how good he is. I mean he can't expect me to fold on this card pretty much ever so competent reg won't bet blank all that light will just realize his equity on turn card.
Some of his hands improved already (64s that he might play due to fish being in blinds). On top of that he should be calling AK,AA,KK pre due to fish being on blinds and he might decide to fastplay them on the flop given the dynamic you both have.
67 won't bet now because it want to try to realize its equity.
So honestly cbet/call and x/jam here seems like a huge spew for me here
Definitely agree with everything here. I think the flop is a very good spot to check/call vs this opponent. You likely aren't getting 3 streets of value from worse and there's a good chance you get blown off your hand later in the street if you try to.
Call flop/call turn/call all non diamond and ace rivers. The thing that type of player is preying upon is guys who make it to the river here and c/f blank rivers. You've got to showdown in those spots and make him have to adjust.
I think we can all agree that b-c, x-jam with KJ on this brd is pretty damn bad in a vacuum- Thats the whole reason of me asking vs this particular type of opp. Taking x-c lines, and passive lines in general, are exactly what I'm trying to get away from as it's what this guy thrives on, and thus I lose from. As long as I'm oop and the brd can get worse he will be able to put ME in tough spots, so I need to take that away from him. At first, x-jamming tp-meh-k on this brd seems terrible, but vs someone who keeps banging away it seems like something I have to start doing. Now, when he starts to notice (if...) then I can re-adjust and have more 'normal' strong hands in my range, etc, etc......
I disagree completely. I know what you're trying to accomplish but it seems like you think the only way to do so is to strengthen your bet/call range by adding in more hands to your bet range in the first place and then just fold less.
Strengthening your check/call range by check/calling the flop with a hand such as this is exactly what you need to do in order to have more hands you can call multiple streets with when villain tries to barrel you. You can balance your range in this spot by check/calling hands like top set, pair+FDs, ect.
I don't think your problem with this opponent stems from your betting range being too weak, I think it stems from your checking range being too weak.
