TPTK otr - Do you bet fold or check-decide?

BN: $141.71
SB: $169.19
BB: $102.46
UTG: $127.03 (Hero)
HJ: $53.51
CO: $115.61
Preflop ($1.50) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt K A
Hero raises to $3, HJ folds, CO calls $3, BN folds, SB folds, BB folds
Flop ($7.50) 2 8 K (2 Players)
Hero bets $5, CO calls $5
Turn ($17.50) 2 8 K 3 (2 Players)
Hero bets $11.50, CO calls $11.50
River ($40.50) 2 8 K 3 4 (2 Players)
Hero bets $20, CO raises to $60, Hero folds
Final Pot
CO wins $77.70

Just 23 hands on CO, but from the very small sample I have he doesnt seem like a complete fish or maniac. Do you always bet this river vs an unknown or is it to thin? Would you rather Check-call here to induce from draws that missed?

Edit: Thinking about it some more there are very few draws that missed and I will never get called by worse. Check-folding against anything larger than 1/2 pot would problably be way better.

Terrible play

Not many draws missed on the river, so I don't really see why check/calling is a better option. I think bet/folding is better, given you're getting value from worse kings, and are losing the same to completed flushes as you would by check/calling (approximately). I like the way you played it.

The adjustments (if any) that would have to be made in the future would have to be made according to the villain's AF (how much he check/raise, etc.), but I think you took a good line here against an unknown especially considering you were out of position.

I think check folding this river is fine.Assuming he 3bets AK, the only hands you get value from are worse suited kings and that`s like 6 combos + some KQo vs infinite combo amount of sets/ss/a5hh 65hh that float the flop.Without reads that he`s capable of turning weak king into a bluff on the river, i`d check fold here.

first time through I missed we were UTG, I dunno I was thinking it was CO/BTN for some reason. Yeah, we 3 barrell when the draw completes on a K high board its hard to get called by worse without knowing hes a fish, so c/f might indeed be best.

For a start i would like to see bigger bets on the flop and especially OTT on this texture. Villain is going to be terribly capped for the most part on these King high two-tone boards. A bigger turn bet may also make the river easier to play as not all villains continue with their flush draws to a close to pot size bet. which means you can more comfortable bet fold the river.

if he has a draw that missed it has to be exactly some broadway suited in hearts that floated the flop, not unreasonable but certainly fewer combos. he can have 8hh but then he has showdown.

i understand that it may be tough to be called by worse, but i'm thinking how you play your whole range. i would like to get villain to fold here quite often. are there really that many flush draws in his range? what about all the stubborn pocket pairs that don't 3bet because you opened UTG and now they feel they need to call because they are underepped? if we give 6 combos for FD (tight calling range) and more for loose calling rnage then i would be inclined to bet/fold vs the former and check/fold versus the latter (as we don't have the A spades blocker)
