TPTK 3bet pot, bad shove ?

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $10.72
SB: $58.48
BB: $10.00 (Hero)
UTG: $8.47
MP: $24.29
CO: $11.81
Vilain is unknow.
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is BB with A K
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.30, 2 folds, SB calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1.30, MP folds, SB calls $1.00
Sb call the pfr and call the squeeze, so I guess he doesnt have premiums in his range..
Flop ($2.90) 9 J K
SB checks, Hero bets $1.50, SB raises to $4.10, Hero raises to $8.70 and is all in, SB calls $4.60
I cbet because half the card in the deck are bad for me OTT and I can get value from KQ, QTs, AQ, AT, QQ, TT, etc.

Once he x/r, I think he can have JJ, 99, QT and FDs. I wasnt sure what to do and I didnt want to see a bad turn card so I shoved. Now that I look back at the hand, I dont see what worse hand would raise/call in this spot, so I think I should have folded.

1) Do you agree with a fold here ?
2) if so, should I cb with AK in this spot ?

Thx !

U definetily don't raise 99 and QTs preflop (do u?), I think JJ u would do it sometimes. On the other hand, villain has 99, QTs, JJ and a lot of 2 pair combos here. He also have plenty of draws here.

Ofc u can build a raising range for villain in this spot here (I will not do this right now), but in general I guess nl10 players don't raise their semibluffs enough in spots like this to make a calldown with TPTK w/o BD-draws profitable.

I'd probably XB flop -> you can't go 3 streets for value and I'd hate to get XR on this board, so I don't mind it. As played, just BF, readless.

1) Kinda odd to say because I won't bet flop but this should be a fold vs unknown... draws will have good equity against you and the larger part of his range has you crushed. The way this went PF, he could basically have all value combos as kevson said.

2)As taaazz mentioned, I would consider check behind on flop being by far a superior play. Your hand is not strong enough to go for 3 streets and by betting flop you are doing two things:
-isolating your self against the strongest part of his overall range
-getting check/raised by a bunch of stuff (value hands + semi-bluffs) and having a hard time to continue, being this way forced to give up your equity in the hand.

By checking behind flop you are facing his complete PF range on turn vs which you are way better (equity wise, although still not great... but better) than vs his continuing range.

I hope this makes sense to you. Let me know if I wasn't explicit enough.

yeah I think you're right. This spot kinda sucks tho..

-> checking behind seems like the best option, but comes with a problem... half the card in the deck are bad for me (diamonds, Q, T) and I dont know where I stand OTT.

-> I hate bet/folding because Im already bet/folding some combos of worse hand and I dont want to be exploited (even tho I know I wont rly get exploited at 10nl, it feels wrong.. lol)

->and finally, Im not confident bet/calling because its also a guessing game OTT and Im probable behind his flop raising range (so I chose to bet/shove,but its a disaster equity wise vs his raise/calling range).

It doesn't matter that Q,T or diamonds will get you into difficulty. It won't be the most pleasant spot but check behind has the highest even IMO. You should not avoid difficult spots but choose the max EV every hand.

yea I def agree. At the moment of the hand, I chose to bet because I thought it was best. But I like checking behind and readjust is the best play.
