SB: $280.15
BB: $233.03 (Hero)
BN: $298.30
Preflop ($3.00) (3 Players)
Hero was dealt J K
BN raises to $5.25, SB folds, Hero raises to $18, BN calls $14.75
Flop ($41.00) 4 6 K (2 Players)
Hero bets $20.50, BN calls $20.50
Turn ($82.00) A (2 Players)
Hero bets $40, BN calls $40
River ($162.00) 2 (2 Players)
We have $152 left.
Whats our line here?
Check-call? check-fold? Bet?

Villian is quite std reg. He is loose and sticky postflop and not balanced in many spots.

Likes to call IP a lot

BTN open raise 55% call of 3b% in these situations 25%

your range for betting the river is at least what you have. wether i bet or check depends on how the match is going and what villians thinks about me. with a solid image i probably ch/f because i see him checkback 6x 77 88 99 K8s etc and he should not have much pure air on the river. but overall i think betting is not that bad because many FDs SDs are busted, but it depends on how villian view such bricks. i prefer betting and figuring out.

you should not be 3betting that many Ax preflop except for the strong ones, and many of your strong ones should check this flop, so this turn is not very good for your range.  he also has a ton of Ax in his flop calling range, so i think turn is far too thin, and i would probably check my whole range on the turn regardless

this is a very good argument for betting the turn for value. if villian thinks hero has no Ax in this spot than he probably will call any Kx 6x 77 88 99 TT because heros turnbetting range in villians eyes is pretty polarized. And i disaggree that villian will float much Ax on this flop, mabe some AXcc or AXdd but thats it i think.

this combined with the read that he is loose and sticky it is a clear Turnvaluebet.

sorry but you are wrong.  he will have essentially every combo of ATo-AQo here in addition to many A7cc type hands and perhaps even weaker Ax than that since he was described as sticky

My logic was similar to Teddy's. It's definitely a value bet on turn. Also i think villain mostly float suited diamond or clubs AX. So its more of a river decision

I don't think you get both a turn and river bet from 88 here and I think the ace hits a floating range pretty well, so I'm checking the turn.

KJ becomes a bluff catcher on the river.  I would check call anything 2/3 the pot or smaller.

bluffcatiching does only make sense if villian is betting worse for value or is bluffing (this requires a lot of potential bluffing kombos in villians range i.e. busted draws). He do not flat 53 or 57 preflop and FDs are only 28 combos (assume he flats about 27% preflop) and this 28 Kombos can be discounted because he sometimes raise the flop or shove the turn and if not he shoud not always call the turn. lets discount 30% of them, so we have 20 combos.

so, if he do not bet KT there and do not have that many bluffcombos and have all the A-highs (like the others said) than it is probably not the best idea to bluffcath here.

a short calculation:

villians valuebetting range: AK AQ AJ AT 44 66 (probably more Ax) ==> 46 combos
potential bluffing hands ==> 20

you can see for a break even call he needs to bluff in nearly 100% of the time he or valuebet really thin.

once i check, i ch/f

You can make an argument for betting the river small with your entire range that you'll play this way. But here on the river it's unlikly that his FD-Kombos picked up SD-Value so u might opt for the check. If you dont know what to do if he bets.. then i prob bet small myself.

Both check/call and check/fold are acceptable here.  You shouldn't expect many 6x/4x hands in his range, and you shouldn't expect many weaker kings to call given your blockers.  The A turn means he should fold most of his 77-JJ combos as well.  That leaves him with Kx/FD/Ax/set/2pr on the river, and you block the only marginal hand in his range that you beat, Kx.  So..... start by checking!  Next, decide how often he shoves his Ax combos, particularly whether or not he folds AQ on the flop and whether he jams it on the river.  Also, see how often if ever he raises flop/turn and decide how much to discount his set/2pr combos.  If he's relatively 2pair+ light by the river, nitty with thin bets like Ax, and might fold flop with AQ, then check/call and expect to see enough diamonds.  If he's just a big old nit, go ahead and check/fold.  If he's the type to call AQ on the flop, slowplay most 2pair+, sometimes raise diamonds, and jam at least AQ+ when checked to, then go ahead and check/fold.
