did not lead the flop as villan was passive so thought chk raise line was better but maybe chk shove the would have been better

Don't lead the river. If you're called you lose 100% of the time and given the runout you almost always have the worst hand. If you're going to make a blocking bet I'd also make it smaller to minimize your loses when called. This is all assuming that you're not trying to bluff though...

cheers for the comments. wasnt bluffing because didnt think i could get him to fold a low straight and figured i had decent showdown equity against his range which has a lot of missed fds and one pair hands. river lead was definitely too big. will have to remember this

His missed flush draws and one pair hands often have an ace and hence now have a straight.

C/c flop this deep unless you have pretty darn solid reads about how he s going to proceed and what his bluffing tendencies are. C/r is going to lead to a ton of tough runouts where you ve bloated the pot and unless you ve built a dynamic I don t think villain is going to call down super lite so the reward does not outweigh the risk.
