Top set on a dry board

https://gg.gl/rdzqy

Does it make sense to check back in this spot?
If I bet big here, I'll get called only with QQ, he can't have sets and 2 pairs here, and I think he would fold hands like AK, TT.
If I check, he can then try to bluff on the turn, he can also hit some top pair that is strong enough to go allin, also the pot is already big and my hand doesn't really need protection (only danger is a Q turn when he has QQ) so there's no rush to start building pot on the flop.
Betting small might also be good, like 1 third size or even less. It would force him to continue with hands like TT, AK, AQ. Maybe a better choice than a check, idk...

I usually cbet 1/4 with range in this spot and there is no reason to cbet big here. Ofc your strategy can be different and if you chose to have a checking range it is ok to check with this combo.

I agree, c betting is fine too. This board is good to check too (I would always bet J87 or J97 boards since he has sets and also more straight draws with 99/TT on the J87 board or 88/TT on the J97 board).

Seems fine to me. A large part of his range will be TT-88 and there is very little need for protection since T9s and 98s will likely not be played this way by him.

Pot is massive and we can easily get our stacks in over 2 streets and it gives him the opportunity to a) catch up with AK/AQ (large part of his range) or b) probe bluff turns.
