Super Interesting Session

Very proud of my play today. Connected with the flop once all session. [4bet Pot, I have AdQd on AsQc9s in SB; I check; aggro fish UTG raises 20%Pot; short-stacked whale CO calls (15bbs behind); I jam; UTG folds; whale calls with JJ! Huzzah! Spikes a Jack on R]; no tilt on my end, I just kept playing my game. I am posting the diciest hand below. I range bet the flop, (and got good result,) but, in hindsight, I wonder. V has a lot of Queens in range, which I am not blocking. I think i got away with one here. V is the same crazy aggro from above UTG, 3betting and 4betting napkins and generally getting away with it and showing. When V just calls my 5bet and then just checks turn (even though OOP,) V is probably more capped than average.

Hero (CO): 114.2bb 9s9h
Villain SB: 117.2bb

fold, UTG+1 calls 1 bb, MP raises to 2 bb, fold, fold, Hero raises to 6 bb, fold, SB raises to 22 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 38 BB, SB calls 16 BB

Flop (80 BB, 2 players): Qs 7d 2h
SB checks, Hero bets 20 bb, SB folds

Hero wins 76 BB

first of all: congrats on your mindset. Its not easy to stay clear after a badbeat like this...

About the hand:
Whats your reasoning for 5betting this pre? Even though 99 could be good enough to gii vs this guy, i dont think its necessary as we could play this hand fine ip.
Why not letting him blast off postflop with a weaker range?
Also: Not sure about 5betting less than shove at this stackdepth...therefore the SPR gets 1 OTF we seem to be committed anyways...but maybe this is fine vs a guy that "wants to see a flop?"

But i guess given your reads we can still rangebet this flop and your sizing looks good to me.
We still have range- and nutadvantage here
So i guess overall this looks wp

Thanks. Yeah, I considered my 5bet more of a 4bet, wanting to get value in position v a weak player who won't fold, which is weird, I know, but the betting line was weird. Original raise of 2x (small for this stake, given rake and pool who under 3bet,) came not from Villain but from weak MP. When Villain 3bet, I suspected V was 3betting light (SB, small size, history of it,) to steal pot or just because he's an aggro fish and that's what he does. I wanted to keep him in hand and outplay post flop if I could, but get some more $ in. If it had been my open and he had raised me from the SB, I would have done the same, which was how I conceptualized it.
