Studying/playing.
Hey guys,
I have a serious problem about studying or playing routine.
I'm type of person who loves to study, but I need to be all the time somehell productive. I mean even if I play like for 8hours and then study for next 3 hours I still feel like I can do more, basically I just don't know where is that "enough" point.
I'd like to have some advice from you, how many hours you play and how many you study? Like basically, how many hours you put in poker in a week. (I don't have any free time because of my studying hobby and I'm a student at high school, I need some advice to fix this.)
btw, yes I play for fun, but I seriously want to improve as best as I can at poker.
thanks a lot for any help!

when i started i did 4 hours study 1 hour play then slowly increase my play time.
Honestly, if you don't find study boring or tedious, then there's no upper bound on studying if you're still a newer player and have a lot to learn. You still need to play somewhat regularly so you know how the games play and can practice applying your study. Also, playing can introduce new spots that you can spend time studying. The only time not playing a lot per day is bad is if you're a professional, as you're missing out on EV by not getting enough volume.
Personally, I used to study about 8 times as much as playing (I was studying what default strategies I wanted to play).
Then I was playing about 4 times as much as studying (here I was practicing applying my default strategies). I did this until I was confident my default ranges were what I wanted them to be.
Then my study shifted to exploiting players, where I studied every spot I thought I could exploit, so I knew how I should adjust to what leaks. All this was based on the hands I played. Here I probably played twice as much as studying but I was still putting in a lot of volume
Make sure you're studying the right things though
