Solver study: How to deal with multiple lines that are similar in EV?
I recently have been in the lab and playing against the GTO+ solution across a variety of flops. One thing that I noticed is that often times, the EV difference of different actions (check vs. bet small vs. bet big) is way more marginal than I expected. I was wondering how I should deal with this...
For example, I am playing BU open vs. BB cold call and I am training myself in identifying spots for range c-bets vs. polarized/selective betting. When the EV of betting 1/3 potsize is 0.19 and the EV of checking and betting big is, let's say, 0.18, with each option being performed by the solver a substantial share of the time with a variety of holdings on a certain flop texture: Which "mental note" should I be making here? Can I simplify this to just saying that all options have a rather similar EV so I can as well just always range bet on this flop without much EV loss? Or should I note down that I kind of have to mix strategies here?
