Slow played AK got stacked...
Last week I went to play 1/2 in a brand new room to try it out and had a rough night since the beginning. I bought in for $100 and the table I sat down was playing like a 1/3 - 2/5ishh table. Players were opening for $15 - $20 bucks every hand and I couldn't get a table transfer because the room was so packed that they told me it would take a while.. Anyways I played a hand where I doubled up through an old Asian player that was playing pretty tight. Next hand right after that I woke up to AKo in late position and the button on my left had straddled for 4
SB folds BB calls, UTG (villain) makes it $15 folds around to me I decided to call. and the BTN & BB calls.
The flop comes; 8K9 rainbow
BB checks, UTG makes it $20 I raised to $50 immediately
folds around back to Villain and he ships it for $250ish
I tank for about a minute and make the go all in since he got me covered.
Turn brings a 7 and River was a 2.
Villain flips over K7o for 2 pair......
What do you think I did wrong playing this hand ??? Would you fold top pair with a good kicker on that board ?
I think I should've raised him pre flop but I knew he was going to end up calling since he already put in a raise and was the same player I doubled up through a hand ago...
Thanks,
-Henry

You went all-in with AK vs K7 on K98 and lost because a 7 fell on the turn.
3bet pre tho
I dont't even know where to start replying to this thread o_o...

Are you seriously beating yourself up because he outdrew you with a worse hand ON THE TURN...
AFTER THE MONEY WENT IN???
Well overall 1 Tip would be: stop playing poker :/...
You are obviously extremely unsound in the theory and practice of poker overall and in general.
Read a few books, watch more videos.
U need to start faaaaaaaaar away from even thinking about any technical decision with an AK in any kind of spot.
I mean... it sounds like you believe in an almighty pokergod who sits there and watches your play and when you "did something wrong" in the way you played the hand he will punish you (and only! you because your opponent obviously made a great play by bet/shoving K7o on K89o in a multiway pot facing a raise ~_~ ) on a later street....
