Run it once, or twice?
I always run it twice (if opponent also has it activated). Cause I hate bad beats, but now I split the pot way more ... And pay more rake, not that this is a big issue...
I know this question is asked a lot but I can't find a good answer, cause this site is call run it once so hard to google this issue :)
What is the best thing to do?

It's the same EV wise, but variance is halved
Less variance=twice..
Like to play deep, do once.
is this true? Can someone elaborate
generally nope, that's not true but to be sure you should just write to your support.
On pokerstars you are not paying more rake because of that (http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/products/run-it-twice/)
This "more rake" thing is a popular myth.
I am not using it because I am giving a flying f about my variance.
What is more, from my perspective, it's even -EV for me.
Someone can more often shove/call my shoves because of that (if he knows that he can decrease his variance and don't want to stack against a guy who is running it only once. That's silly but there are regs who are thinking like that).
Even if it's a marginal or very small advantage, I am taking it.
actually I woudn't trust that much support. But in generally it should be same rake, either you win/lose 3/3 times you pay same rake as you chop 6 times which happens at equal %
Ok, sorry. But if you split, you win nothing, only rake is payed. And I thought, more split pots is more rake in the end of the road. Cause when we go allin and have 50% equity, we loose money due to rake, correct? So the more we run it, the more we get closer to 50%, the less EV we get...
But that's maybe a bit short thinking...
Let's asume I go allin with AA vs KK.
-> Run it once: 81% vs 19%
-> Run it twice: ..........
- how much am I gonna win this twice ? 64% (0.8x0.8)
- how much is villain gonna win it once? 36% (0.19+0.19) seems not right tbh :)
- how much is villain gonna win it twice? 3% (0.19x0.19) ?
Can someone give me some quick math pls :)
just imagine it is 2 different hands happening right after each other :)
Think it is only visual effect, because at most hands have 60/40 70/30 against each other, it is natural to see many splits as hands go by. when you run it once you will see it less, because you see half less runouts
Assume that the cards are drawn with replacement. Namely: you run the board out once, then replace the cards and shuffle the deck, and run it again.
In this case, the EV of both runouts is exactly the same. So the EV of running it twice is exactly the EV of running it once (because EV is additive). Variance would be lower, obviously.
(You can usually ignore the small complication that the cards are drawn without replacement. It will not change the calculations much.)
