Reduced Value of Suited Cards in Tough Games

Let's take suited connectors and suited aces. We have our multipliers preflop, whatever. The issue is when that flush finally comes in (out of many times when it didn't) it's so very obvious and no one wants to pay you. Especially when you have a tight image, especially OOP. But even with an average image and IP it's still very hard to get paid. Everyone sees the flush and no one wants to pay if they don't have it. In my experience in my games (live $5/$10), flushes are of little value. I won't say of no value because FDs provide a lot of equity that can be realized on future streets and you can leverage that equity by semi-bluffing/floating/etc - but the problem is you don't get paid off on that equity when it comes in - you win the hand but you don't win any extra - you just win what's in the pot already. There is almost zero implied odds.

It seems to me that something like 98o has better implied odds than A7s because str8 are much less obvious and DO get paid off quite often.

This said, I might drop suited Aces from all but 3b/4b/5b bluffing ranges. It doesn't seem like they're worth it - even deep.
