I had this discussion with a good friend of mine the other day regarding this issue and a hand I played,  he thinks that an overall optimal strategy playing mid stakes is realizing our equity vs increasing our fold equity.  My style is geared more towards increasing fold eq (eg. check raising, barelling on the right cards etc.)  So I want to ask the general public as to what you think.  Is it more optimal to call your draws or bet your draws VS raising them and getting more folds.  I understand that the latter has a little more variance for the times that you are called down light, but the other strategy just seems a little to fit or fold for me,  what do you think?
