Rake in smaller games - How does rake affect our (optimal) gameplan?
Rake and how it should affect our gameplay is something that has not been really talked about. Coaching videos are pretty much always NL200+, so we haven't really seen how coaches would adapt to higher rake. Or would they even change anything about their game because of rake?
I'm mainly talking about NL25/NL50, those are the games that I play. A few questions popped into my head:
Should my BB calling ranges be tighter at NL25 than at NL200+?
My VPIP/PFR ratio is around 24,5 / 20,0, is this fine? Or is more passive preflop approach bad in general or because of rake? By having a smaller gap between VPIP/PFR I would win more pots preflop, no rake.
I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if rake make a difference in terms of good strategy. And when watching a RIO video for example, should I always keep in mind that I'm paying more rake so I have to play tighter/aggressive style (more 3betting preflop, less calling)?
