raises on paired and dry boards
This spot happened twice to me today, both times I reacted differently, but for the sake of the agrument it should be enough to just discuss this one. Long story short, when a reg raises me on a board like this, I expect him to be bluffing close to 10000% of the time. Every once in a while people show up with trips, but generally speaking, I don't quite see the point in raising trips IP on a dry board. The problem starts when I try to react to it. 3 betting is basically making the same play that he does (which is clearly bad) and try to outlevel him. Calling with a good A high seems ok considering that he prob doesn't turn PPs into bluffs. But we might face multiple streets (as in this case) and end up looking like a degen on an inflated pot, havinf nothing but A high. B/c flop, c/r turn? I can't really figure out what the best play is. My line seems to be the worst of all, since I invest a lot without getting to showdown.
