Question about AKQ game in Gelfond beginner course
In the course he states that the player with the K needs to call 50% of the time to avoid being expoitable. He arrives at the 50% because at this frequency the bluff with the Q is 0 EV.
But isn't there something missing? The range of they polarized guy can't be neglected, for example if it consists of 4 Aces and 1 Q.
Than the player with the K should always fold to a push even though calling 50% would give the bluff 0 EV.

I'm no pro or coach but I can take a stab at this...
Yes if the A/Q range has value 80% of the time then he is underbluffing so it's right to always fold. Even if he shoves every time (which he should) then he only has 1 bluff for every 5 shoves so he is underbluffing (the correct ratio is 1 bluff per 3 shoves, ie, 1 bluff per 2 value)
If A/Q underbluffs the correct strategy is to fold every time. If he overbluffs the correct strategy is to call every time. If he has the correct ratio then the correct strategy is to call half the time and fold half the time.
In your example A/Q is forced to underbluff because he does not have enough bluff hands in his range.
IMO the main takeaway from the AKQ game is that polarized ranges absolutely crush capped ranges. In the standard problem, both players have 50% equity but the polarized range gets 75% of the money!
Hope this helps!
Galfond does mention this in the same video. The step before you get to how often K needs to call Galfond goes over how often AQ needs to bet Q to keep the K indifferent between calling.
If Q doesn't bet often enough: Just fold. If it always bets, just call.
