Flop ($12.25) 2 9 J
Hero checks, CO checks, BN bets $11.75, Hero

EP and CO are regs, BTN is whale 67/32 stats.
Seen him float random on 337 then donk K turn and 2 rvr for 1/2pot with air. So his 1/2p sizings maybe weak, maybe his pots are strong but i don't have a sollid read on that.

In this spot i decided to check flop as i do with allot of my range because these mono boards are really hot/cold i have allot of hands that have very low equity.

Now since CO checks i am not so worried about him, i think he would bet JJ,99 and flushes in fear of it getting checked trough. Tho cannot totally discount it. Now i feel i am in a really tough spot, maybe its still best to fire flop small and go from there ?

Im not sure how well i do vs BTN's range to start with.
He's got a ton of flushes in his range, all the sets, J9, but also Jx, Draws, QT, Adxx. All in all i think i am around 40% only maybe less, so its not ever that great. Should this just be a check/fold with CO involved as well ?

Lmk what you think, thx!

Always hard to play that kind of spot. If you call, there a ton of ugly turn cards. Maybe he is betting for protection that big with a J. Could x/r be an option?

if BTN is a whale, folding here would be criminal, the reason being that bad players make huge mistakes in multiway pot thinking hand value is the same as in heads up pot, well in my experience anyway.

he could have any hand with the A of diamond, any J, 10-8 of club, etc.

I shove all day here and thank the poker gods for whales when he calls with J10o, then breaks keyboard on the rivered T ;)
