Poker Management - stakes
Hey guys, just wanted to ask you for some advice, when I'm having 250$ on my cash desk, which stakes should I play? I'm intermediete player with some practice.

I picked this image up a long while ago but I think it's still relevant and very good.

According to this guide you should probably start at 5nl and grind for a while until you have cashed out about $250 and your br is around $300 or (up to you) once you have around $300 immediately move up to 10nl. Grind and move down again if you lose 5 buy-ins. Rinse repeat until you reach next level of bankroll and so on...
Thanks a lot man, I appreciate that.
WOW seeing that graphic again is pretty cool. I had it set as my screen backround maybe 8 years ago :)
The chart above seems solid, although there is some room for deviation based on how much risk you can and are willing to take with your bankroll management.
So it really is up to you, based on how much risk you're willing to take.
Yea right, most of that depends on me, but I was searching for some basic picture of my own management, You know, like a starting inspiration.
My basic thought on this is that: As long as you have an outside source of income to live on, you should take more risk. It's really not a big deal to lose $250 bucks, you can always re-deposit. Even losing 1-2k is reasonably easy to replace.
If you couple this idea with the fact the micro stakes rake is large and winrate's miniscule ($1/100), this makes moving up very desirable. I'd play on at 10 buyins and drop at 5 buyins to the next lowest level. You'll definitely lose half roll occassionally, but this is meaningless and you maximize your shot to make money ($6/100) is 6 times the profit. Its the difference between a 10K a year hobby and 60K a year hobby.
