pocket Kk on Q J 2 flop facing all in

1/2 NL live my second hand at the table so i had no info on players stats.

I get KdKc in small blind on a straddled pot. 2 limpers. I raise to 25$ bb calls, straddled calls and utg+1 calls.

I started the hand with 185$, BB had 600$ straddle had 450$

Flop comes Jd Qs 2h 100$ in pot. I continue out for 60$ leaving myself 110$ behind. bb folds and straddled tanks for a minute before raising 100$ more. Utg+1 fold and its back to me.

I wanted to hear some opinions on how i played this hand so far and if this is an obvious call or debatable a fold. Keep in mind i have no info on players they have no info on me. 2nd hand played at the table.

Results: i called he showed JJ for mid set.

Very UL hand. Don't beat yourself up over it . You don't want to fold when he can easily have AQ or something, and we do have a set draw. Since we know nothing he could be getting out line with a hand like KT too.

Yeah so i figured. i wasnt down about it at all just part of the variance of the game. My main focus and goal on going into my session today was to not let anyting effect my mental state of A game or emotions at the table. so when i had this beat I was mentally prepared and didnt feel anything of it. its just part of the variance in the game and you need to be able to expect that and not get upset over beat like these.

I just wanted to see what peoples thoguht were on if this is 100% a call or for some it might be a fold. but giving the scenrio which i had no info on the players and vise versa. i think it is always a call. As you said, I dont want to lose value from hands like AQ or overplayed draws

Seems like a call to me. You're getting a good price and as flatbreadpizza (great name) said he can show up with Qx here as well as straight draws.

I agree this is just a typical UL hand for KK, and one you should be completely prepared for, however you bet sizing is all wrong for me. $25 seems like a bit much for the preflop raise, but it's not terrible. $20 would probably do it, but I don't hate $25 since you want to push the limpers and even make sure the BB doesn't come in too. But on the flop you have a $75-$80 pot and you bet 75% when 50% ($40) would be enough. Easy mistake is to feel like you need to bet big to push out weaker hands. If they are calling for odds, it's bad math for them to hit the straight draw, flush draw maybe but that's not applicable here. Also, you started off pretty short stacked (<100 BB won't go far with this aggressive betting), and now are pot committed with no information at this point on their relative hand strength. A CBet of $40 would still get a raise out of the JJ guy, anyone that missed this flop should fold, and you can at least attempt to get away and lose $60 instead of $85, saving over 20% of your stack.

I like the line of checking this flop and seeing what comes on the turn. It looks suspicious that you didn't CB and could slow the action down, and since you are OOP you get info if you get a bet that you obviously call. That being said, I probably would have CB and called the all-in and lost my whole stack (which I assume is what happened to you from your comment), but these are the types of hands you could possibly get away from (in hindsight...).

Oops just saw you stated the pot was $100 going to the flop. Still I think the learning point has to do with bet/raise sizing in these games relatively short stacked. I've found that the live $1/$2 and $1/$3 games are playing bigger and feel much more like the $2/$5 games of a few years ago. I haven't sat down at a $2/$5 table in a few years so I can't imagine how big those are playing now.
