Playing Sets OOP on drawheavy boards in 6-max zoom
I was wondering which lines one can take when flopping a set
scenario :
you are utg in 10/25 zoom and dealt 8d8h. You decide to make a standard 3BB open raise.
The button calls * and the blinds do both fold.
Button is a *TAG reg Vpip 20 Pfr 18 AF 3.5.
Flop comes 8cThQh.
Do you c-bet here (if so, how big) or do you check to him? which stats you look at to decide wether checking or betting is better?
I am not sure when it is better to build a pot here and when it is better to keep the pot small and decide on the turn how to continue.
advantage of betting small:
when villain just calls the flop and the draw hits on the turn you can check to him, let him bet like 70-100% of the pot and just x/call this raise. when you hit your full on the river you can easily get his stack by check raising him all in if he has the tendency to see a lot of showdowns with made hands that are beaten on the river easily.
when the turn does not hit his draw you can now bet again ( maybe 60-75% of the pot) and he will likely call with his hand being an underdog.
Would yu ever bet the flop bigger or even x/r it?
cheers, flush

There is no advantage in betting small, unless you know for sure villain likes to raise a lot. Check/raising becomes attractive if villain stabs a lot vs your missed c-bet. But Im not gonna risk missing a street of value here without having reads/big enough sample.
cbetting 100% with this hand on this board barring reads. I'd also size up given oop I'd want to be polarized on this texture and I don't see any benefits from betting a small sizing as a standard. This is not a board we would want to be cbetting huge chunks of our range, where a smaller sizing would make more sense.
What sizing would you bet there? like 66-75% of the pot?
Yea that sizing seems fine to me.
