Playing Low Stakes

I use to play low stakes for 3 years. It is very tough. First of all you need a strategy with lot of patience and also playing tight agresive. To earn money you must realy waight a moment that you gonna have a strong hand and so do your oppoment because many of this players are regulars that play over 10 tables. Doing that first of all you need to know what opoment you playing against. You can do some moves when you have position with low quality hands. Lots of players there are waiting for top pairs and sets to play but you may join with a hand like Q8 when you got position and have the chance to have a good hand on flop. Your strategy must be tight with more variety starting hands. You also must raise lot of money when you have a good hand because lots of people there will call you with low hand that can be better in the turn or river so you gona have a very bad beat, Avoid giving them odds when you dont have a monster!
And here comes the part of getting paid when your opoments has a strong hand too .

You seem kind of pessimistic about small stakes holdem... Try not to think in terms of absolutes where you must "always do x or y". The more thinking you do on the tables and off of them you'll see that you often have a wide variety of options in different spots and once you start implementing different bet sizes, unconventional lines etc your game will really take off.

I agree with you to a certain degree, I play 100nl. I would say that I apply your standard strategy vs unknowns and when playing fish I mostly play in a vacuum. I find that when playing regs, this is where we are able to take the most unconvential lines, based on stat analysis to find leaks and history of play together. Correct me if I am wrong, but you only need to balance your ranges when playing against the better regs at your stake. I feel like balancing vs fish is not necessary. You can check out "game theory optimal" strategies to balance your range pre flop and post flop, but it is a break even strategy. To apply GTO you need to be able to identify leaks in villians games and switch between "exploitative" and "game theory". I like to call it the sword "exploitative" and shield "game theory" hehe. Gluck!

Yeah, I have trouble understanding balance too even though I've watched a couple videos about it on other places and didn't watch this ones because I have the essential membership. But James is right, just take every situation one at a time and do your best in a hand to think about ranges to the best of your ability. Low stakes are tough for me too because I've been sucking for 10 years lol and I puke thinking about people like Phil Galfond who are like "gods".

You beat microstakes hard if you press your fold button even harder.I play 25nl at the moment and that seems to be the best strategy imao.
