I decided to flat flop vs his raise as I didn't see the board too drawy. Few gutshots that hardly will improve and flush draws.

decided to check because my plan is not play for 2 bets. I wont be betting river for value on a brick. So with my check I sabe a bet vs AA or Tx (which he has a bunch opening 20%), and on the river I will get the 2nd bet from QQ, JJ 99 88 maybe. Should I be betting for protection vs the flushes? I dont want to get raised by them... and now as the board paired I am not that scared from a big bet on the river when flush completes.
