Villain is an unknown. I assume he just cbets his AA, AK, whatever hands on the flop, so when he checks back he looks weak. When he calls my bet on the turn he looks like QQ, maybe JJ, maybe some preflop bluff that hit a pair of 8s or 5s and plays passive.
First I'm not sure about continuing postflop - I think it's probably fine to just give up and not fire turn or river. If it is ok to fire turn, I'm not sure if I should give up river or shove - I don't think a normal sized bet will get the job done because he has too many bluffcatchers.
