Optimal Lines for Flopped Top Set
Sorry if this is too general/broad/theoretical/philosophical/whatever but this **ing bothers me. A lot.
Let's say you're Original Raiser and you flop top set on a fairly dry board. Let's say you have 1-2 callers preflop. Your image is tight. Like...
KK on K57r
QQ on Q63r
JJ on J93ss
If you're OOP or IP it doesn't really **ing matter because generally the same thing happens either way if you bet flop. They snap FOLD. Even if they're horribad station fish - because they don't have ANYTHING. That's why I'd much rather have a bottom set or even a middle set (if it's on broadway-high (especially A-high) board.... perfect).
So the problem is you basically flopped the nuts. What can they call with possibly? Draws? Well.. on a dry board there's maybe one draw if that. Mid or bottom pair? That's maybe one street of value IF they even call flop with that.
Where am I going with this? I HATE to slowplay sets. But... maybe this is when you should?
