opening ranges for 5/4/3 handed cash game [NL25]
Hi, there's plenty of free material online about 6max and heads-up, but what opening ranges are you using with 5 handed, 4 handed, 3 handed?
I play in a low traffic room, for 5/4 handed I just use my 6max ranges and then quit the table when it's 3-handed. I suppose it's wrong and I should open more because you pay more blinds per hand. Also I miss nice opportunities to play with two fish.
I just need a rough % for the average TAG.

I dont think we get to open more hands 3way, I think we should defend slightly more on a bb. Probably also having limping and coldcall strategy from sb should improve our ev somewhat, although I’m not certain about that
Hi,
as a general rule, stick to your preflop ranges. But there are two major factors in your preflop ranges that will vary:
1) As we get shorter handed, this factor is less significant: card removal. In 6max, if you are sb vs bb and everyone folds to you, bb is much more likely to have a strong hand. In 5-3max, card removal is now less of a thing.
2) As we get shorter handed, this factor is more significant: profiling and adjustments. In 3max, as it gets closer to heads-up you need to focus a LOT more on who is left to act and how you should adjust your opening ranges. Profiling is getting a lot more of a thing now :)
