Hello everyone. Came across this hand last night at a casino. Found a local casino that does .25/.50 NL. Anyway Villain is an aggressive light 3 better and has showdown a really wide range of cards. 3 betting hands like Q7o and 97s in and out of position. Curious to know if my line was badly played like a fish? or was it allright? was villain's line looking obviously like a set? Any insight would be wonderful and greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

The Names were randomly chosen from my List of players in PT4.

Ya this hand is a bit of a train wreck. Its ok though mistakes are allowed as long as you learn from them :D.

So pre is obv good. Flop you should just c bet. Pretty ideal hand for it and you should fire again on any card T-A. Once you check meh idk maybe floating is ok but seems dubious to say the least.

OTT not really sure what you are thinking here. Are you trying to rep the 4? Just c/f.

OTR so you hit and his most likely holdings are a worse pair. 9x,TT-JJ, some 4x, 99,22 should be his range. Betting ~20 for value and fold to a shove is better. Once you check and he bets what is up with the raise? You realize you have a bluff catcher as not much worse is ever going to bet for value (what would you do with a 9 in villains spot?). Seeing as not much worse is going to  bet for value worse is not going to call the raise. Therefore the only reason to raise is a bluff but I doubt better is going to fold (cause who folds boats?).

I hope this makes some sense and points out some basics about how to go about hand reading.

I will play differently OTF,OTT and OTR.

On this 249 board I will cbet or check fold, nearly never check call. I am not a fan of floating OOP.

If I cbet the flop, I will continue on many turns as your opponent can rarely have a strong enough hand to call double barrels. Your turn check raise is bad in that you rep too few hands such as 4x, 99,22. Many people wont believe you when your repping range is too narrow.

OTR your check raise is terrible. Nothing worse will call and nearly no betters will fold. He can only have either a weak pair or a monster on this particular board.

i would have cbetted the flop against some oppo's.. (not against total calling station etc)..

with the intention of barrelling many turns like T-J-Q-K-A..

check calling the flop is unuseful 'cause you're paying so much (since you're giving away your flop and turn fold equity) 6 outs for the turn..

check raising the turn against most is unuseful too 'cause i think that if you had 4x you wouldn't have raised on that dry flop against a totally unknown.. .. or better, raising or not trips it's obv totally oppo dependent.. maybe raise maybe check call.. but anyway..

on the river, i don't think a normal oppo would have called with 9x +.. since there aren't missed draw etc.. so i just have check called.. and said lol to 4 quads aha

I think once we give up the lead oop on the flop and start a x/c line, it's time to give up on the hand unless something special happens on the turn. Our hand is not going to appear to be a 'big pot' hand and x/r on the turn is going to look super weird to villain on this board texture.

I'd either cbet the flop, or just x/f depending on whether or not villain has a really wide preflop range and plays fit or fold postflop.  It's alright to have a x/c range on the flop, but KQo isn't a great hand to do it with.
