I dont like raising cbets IP in 3b pots. That said, I think that you should be able to construct a very reasonable raising range on this particular flop. Its very dependent on your preflop range too (for example, a lot of stars zoom regs have AK in their preflop range).
The problem is, you actually need flatting range and you dont have that many valuehands, so it gets hard to balance, esp on the fly.
If you do have AK in your range, you can certainly calldown with all combodraws and AK and raise gutters, weaker FDs and either KQ or 55.
Now interesting question is how to split your valuehands. For one hand, KQ def. benefits from raising, because its equity is somewhat vulnerable. On the other, it blocks his valuerange.
I have no idea how to properly split your valuerange, if you do want to have a raising range.
Combo draws and sets only, flop should nail 3bettors range.
why would we raise combodraws?
We will win with them often enough anyway, we can call. The whole point of a raising range is to win with hands that need the fold equity, no?
And this flop binks both our ranges.
We dont have to care about our fold equity and can add some non SDV hands to our range to kinda balance our super strong value hands.
We still have J high, so technically we win if villain folds just A high.
So no bluff raises... can't we be exploited if villain always folds to our raise then or does that not matter?
If I would raise some bluffs it would be the weakest gutshots probably
On this specific board he either air balls himself or hit the flop super hard with ak, qq,kk or aa; if we raise we shouldnt get him out too often but we can use position to float and find out more about his hand on later streets. Also raising in 3bet pots 100bb deep is somehow akward; if the raise is more than a minraise you are potcomitted and have to call any shove.
So on the other hand I doubt he folds aa here if we value raise KQ, because of the draw heavy board, KK and QQ prob 4 bet it is a low SPR situation etc. Our value raises wont get exploitative folds here.
Raising on a flop where villains range crushes your range makes zero sense. Fine as played.
this.
What if he 3bets 12% SBvsBU and cbets 97% in 3b pots? Wouldn't it be good to bluff some of my weakest draws instead of just calling
