NL50 JTs turned TP barrel gets CR'ed
Villain is a solid reg at this stake running 21/16 over 2.9k hands. 3-bet of 3.7%, fold to 3-bet of 62%. Fold to c-bet 43%, fold to turn bet 35%. WWSF 51%. Seems like a tight player pre-flop but is aggressive post-flop.
My notes say:
flat TT in SB vs. BTN, ch. down 3rd pair mw (multi-way)
peel TT in 3B pot 2B (2-barrels) on turn Q deep OOP
3B KK vs. UTG, ch down on Ax board OTB
2-barrel air no equity T8s on KQxx
c/c down tripsGK (good kicker) QJs
peel 1B (1-bullet) on JTxtt
4B IP deepish, cbet Jxx mono fold to CR
I think villain expects me to barrel this turn a lot with air and picked up draws since it's an overcard to the board. All of my air takes this line so I have to call the CR. But then the river bomb wat.
Not sure if sets play this way since there are no flush draws and the only draw I could possibly have that continues for value is T9. Not only that but my range is mostly air and he doesn't let me fire a 3rd barrel with all my bluffs.
Villain could certainly have T9 here as well, peeling the flop with the intention of CR'ing turned equity or check/calling a 2nd-barrel with a turned TP. That's the only hand I can beat that I think might play this way.
Value hands include J8s/J4s/J2s as I think villain's BB defending range could definitely play this way although we block one J. Maybe QT that wants to CR this turn as a semi-bluff that got there? Or over playing a hand like AJo?
If I knew villain was capable of CR'ing a board like this I would definitely consider checking back some turns and I think this might be an OK spot to do it.
