NL400 89s Bluff
Hero (SB): $418.70 (104.7 bb)
BB: $400.70 (100.2 bb)
UTG: $400 (100 bb)
MP: $549.12 (137.3 bb)
CO: $741.13 (185.3 bb)
BTN: $421.15 (105.3 bb)
Preflop: Hero is SB with 8h 9h
UTG raises to $10, 3 folds, Hero raises to $35, BB folds, UTG calls $25
Flop: ($74) 7h Kd Jc (2 players)
Hero bets $40, UTG calls $40
Turn: ($154) 8c (2 players)
Hero bets $80
Villain is a 30/23 winning reg with a 22vpip from UTG. Foldto3b 50%, 4bet 13%. He's the type to peel flops and turns rather loosely but fold the river quite often.
Preflop: Since I prefer to 3bet AA/KK vs a player this loose UTG, I need to have a slight bluffing range as well and I think 89s-QJs work nicely in this spot.
Flop: With a gutter and backdoor flush draw I chose to bet. I believe it to be a board that's fairly even or possibly a bit better for his range overall.
Turn: Since I picked up a bit more equity and given that he peels flops and turns loosely, I decided to fire this turn and likely fire most rivers.
