NL25z flopped middle set. Best line from here

Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 (6 Players) BN: $35.03
SB: $6.42
BB: $34.03
UTG: $28.45
MP: $30.88
CO: $43.32 (Hero)
Only 28 hands on villain 23/23 3bet 2/2 from the btn including this hand 100/100/100 cbet by street 5,3,2 hands respectively.
Preflop ($0.35) Hero is CO with 5 5
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.62, BN raises to $2.20, 2 folds, Hero calls $1.58
Flop ($4.75) 5 J 2
Hero checks, BN bets $3.20, Hero calls $3.20
Turn ($11.15) 5 J 2 9
Hero checks, BN bets $8.20, Hero raises to $20.75, BN folds
I don't like my sizing either I think I should have just jammed if I'm going to raise he had 21 left behind after the cbet
Final Pot CO wins $26.31
Rake is $1.24

I really don't like the line I chose in play I think it just looks super strong makes it easy for villain to fold 1pair type hands. I think either CRing flop or after CCing I think I should probably just check call again??

xc ott, xc spade and Q/K/A river, x jam the rest imo

if you want a raising range, do that otf...but again, given that we prob have fair bit of Jx in our range, its prob better to just xc

the bad part of the hand is that he is unknown. Given his sizing he has overpair a lot. Some unknowns are gonna be folding AA to a raise and some wont. Parts of our range would like to play differently vs every type of unknown (we wanna be raising sets vs the guys who dont fold and we want to jam draws vs the second type).

Unless you have a strong population read, you just have to keep it consistent and choose whether you're gonna be calling down with draws and sets, or just raise somewhere with both.

Ok i'll try again, just wrote a response then accidentally deleted it...

Vs unknown i feel that this may just be a fold pre (this is obviously debatable and i may just be flat out wrong - if i am then i'd appreciate if someone would please take a little bit of time to put me right with a thorough explanation :)

As played:

I'd be betting bottom set here OTF, top and probably middle set would be in my xc or possibly xr range here. I'd lean towards xr here as a fair portion of our opponents range should connect with this board (again please correct if i'm wrong). JJ 99 obv but also AJs possibly some AJo, some KJs J10/9 as bluffs etc + overpairs.

xc turn since the pot will be around $27 and there will be approx $23 effective behind to bet river.
Raising turn eliminates hands we may extract value from OTR

^^ not sure about river, but his river cbet is almost certainly attributable to a sample of 1 hand which we can't infer anything from. Because of this i'd be value betting river. He'll just be checking back too much with hands that have showdown value.

Because its such a small sample can we not infer from the other street barrel stats that he is more likely to barrel the river as well? Cbetting he is 5/5, 3/3, 2/2 on each street.

I'm not convinced calling 3bets w/55 OOP BTNvsCO is profitable, its still only 140bb deep. Does anyone have any info on this actually, its an interesting topic in itself.

What are some considerations if BTN 3 bets a strange size, too big / too small?
Also any considerations if villains 3 Bet Frequency is high?

How might either of these effective a call pre ?

Too big you tighten up your calling range, too small you can widen it.
High 3bet frequency need to look at other things to see how you'd combat them -fold to 4bet for example or how often they barrel post flop.
