I think it's fine until the river. Maybe I should bet flop a bit bigger, about $1.50 . Now, this is a very tough spot in my opinion. T9 and hearts got there and with his stats and his fold to cbet stat it is unlikely that he is turning a hand into a bluff. For playing bet/fold here, my stack isn't big enough, I'm committed with every bet on the river. Furthermore, I'm on top of my range (maybe AJhh and AThh are the best ones).
Thoughts?
Kind regards

I think that you played it fine. Everything got there, you're facing a stationy player (I don't expect him being aggro particularly often), and you block KQ.
I also doubt that he'd play KJ/JJ/22 this way, so yeah, wp imo!
If your sure that he is always doing this river bet with better, I think you can fold (but im not sure its the case :) )
Theoretically, I think you cant fold here because you're at the top of your range and you'd be exploitable if you do. In practice, I dont think you'll be exploited that much tho. The fact that he is a bad player also inclined me to call OTR. I wont be surprised to see him call flop and turn with KQ, KJ, AK or hands like that and then bet river when we check because he thinks he has the best hand. Calling station are bad players and bad players do weird things..
At first, I thought it was a bet from hero and a raise from vilain and I was like "well, tough spot, hate to fold it". Vs a raise, I this is a bad call, but vs a bet, I think we can call.
after your check on the river that was a good spot for him to bluff, if he has the flush i don´t see why he bets so big , it looks he don´t want you to call . Maybe you could bluffcath here . For a guy that plays 31/19 im sure he has to bluff some rivers , especially in position .
Can we blockbet/fold in this spot? Like bet 5 and fold to raise?
That's probably what I would do against a bad player. Against a better player that could be exploitable and he could just jam his entire range.
Because of the fact that people don't bet for thin value very often at these stakes (I mean, I saw a guy who checked the river back when he had the nutflush, but the turn card paired the board :O).
So I think most of the time he has bluffs or a flush, maybe a straight (there is only T9, I think AK is mostly a 3bet CO vs MP). If I would knew that he bets twopair that big I would defenitely call this bet. But people just don't do that so often :(.
what about the fact that we are at the top of our range here ?
Vs a reg its a taff river, but vs a 31/19 coldcall 26% after 2k hands I would valuebet/fold around 6$-7$.

I guess its a fair range, and I gave him all Ax flushes and a lot of suited connectors. Sometimes he folds more on the river/ sometimes less. But imo more important is, that a bet/fold is (imo) way better than a check/call. As played I fold...Be the first to add a comment
